PRESS RELEASE Bodhi handbags is a new line of hand-crafted bags for the fashion-enlightened woman combining exotic materials, chic leather and vintage design redefining the accessory “must-have”.
The Fall/Holiday 2008 collection captures the brand’s spirit, with a combination of sophisticated styles and originality dictating this season’s trends. “Bodhi represents high sophistication, cutting-edge design and hand-made quality – three of the most important elements together which is a rare commodity today,” says Creative Director Joseph Janus, a former marketing VP at Calvin Klein and top manager who helped propel brands like Calvin Klein and Eastsport backpacks into household names.
For Fall/Holiday 2008 Bodhi features materials such as Italian leather, lamb, crushed patent, glitter suede and fur in fascinating new silhouettes as well as unique takes on the clutch, hobo, satchel, tote, and messenger. The core collection ranges between $300 and $1,000 and the custom collection between $500 and $5,000 at retail.
Showcasing a wide variety of vivacious colors, Bodhi’s colors of the season are squash, pumpkin, violet and cinnamon. “We wanted to create vibrant colors that make you feel warm for the Fall season,” says Janus. Owner and entrepreneur Angela Han, to celebrate spirituality in her everyday business ventures, decided to name her company Bodhi, which means awakening. With such an unforced Eastern spirituality embedded in the name of the brand, Janus allotted mantras to each different style. With fifty styles in all, enlightening mantras such as, “Peace comes from within, do not seek it without” and “With our thoughts we make our world” are stitched into every hand-made bag.
